This one-day trek is the most compact version of the Mountain View route. It begins with a walk to the viewpoint near Dragon Jaw Mountain, then continues through the villages of Hang Da, Hau Thao, and Giang Ta Chai, crossing open hillsides, village paths, and farmland along the way.

Itinerary

Morning – Dragon Jaw Mountain viewpoint
We meet at 9:00 AM in Sapa town and begin with an uphill walk to the viewpoint above Dragon Jaw Mountain. From here, you can see Sapa town, the Muong Hoa Valley, and, on clear days, Fansipan in the distance.

Late morning – Hang Da Village
From the viewpoint, we continue along mountain paths toward Hang Da, a Black Hmong village with open views and a slower rhythm than the busier valley routes.

Lunch stop – Local restaurant
We stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing the afternoon section of the trek.

Afternoon – Hau Thao and Giang Ta Chai
After lunch, we walk through cornfields, terraced farmland, and village paths. Along the way, you may see hemp and indigo plants used in traditional Hmong textile work.

Return to Sapa
In the afternoon, a taxi picks us up in Giang Ta Chai and takes us back to Sapa town.
