This one-day route connects Suoi Ho, Ma Tra, and Ta Phin, moving from Black Hmong villages toward the Red Dao area of Ta Phin. It is a relaxed full-day walk, suited to travelers who want a quieter cultural route near Sapa without taking on a more demanding mountain trek.

Itinerary

Morning – Suoi Ho Village
We start at 9:00 AM in Sapa town and walk toward Suoi Ho, a Black Hmong village near Sapa. This first section offers open hillside views and a closer look at daily farming life in the area.

Late morning – Farmland and village paths
Depending on the season, you may see green rice fields, harvest fields, vegetable plots, and daily work happening around the houses and paths.

Lunch stop – Local restaurant
We continue uphill toward Ma Tra, another Black Hmong village with quiet surroundings and wider mountain views. We stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continuing in the afternoon.

Afternoon – Ma Tra to Ta Phin
After lunch, the walk continues toward Ta Phin, passing through farmland, rural paths, and small village areas along the way.

Late afternoon – Ta Phin Red Dao Village
Ta Phin is home to the Red Dao community and is known for herbal medicine and traditional herbal bath practices. In the village, you may see women working with forest plants used for herbal baths, depending on the day and season

Optional – Red Dao herbal bath
After time in the village, there is usually free time to look around Ta Phin or try a traditional herbal bath if you wish. The herbal bath is optional and not included in the base trek price.

Return to Sapa
At the end of the day, a car takes us back from Ta Phin to Sapa town.
